Streichquintett A-Dur op. 39
Alexander Glasunow
Since 2009, the "Master Students – Masters" format at the SHMF has been a resounding success every year, bringing together distinguished greats of the music world and aspiring young talents to jointly refine the interpretation of selected works. This year, the role of the "Master" is taken on by the celebrated cellist Anastasia Kobekina, who was honored with the "Leonard Bernstein Award" in 2024 and shines in all the world's major concert halls. Together with four up-and-coming musicians, she will present two string quintets in Bordesholm and Nieblum that promise a true feast of sound: Schubert's enchanting C major Quintet—described by music critic Joachim Kaiser as a "sounding mystery" before which one can only "bow"—as well as Glazunov's Opus 39, which combines quoted Slavic folk songs with cosmopolitan elegance in a luminous form.
